Paint Party Friday and a quick at work sketch...

Okay so I am at work and I see this lady (older) waiting at the bus stop...it is 95 and she is in her cultural clothing...I am soooooooooooo respectful of that...my mind starts to wonder...a young girl with all the world to see...what is she thinking.............

what is she thinking???
wow, what color would you have used for the yellow???  I have color combo and depth issues....I was at work so my supplies were limited.... watercolor pencils and crayons...I used q-tips instead of paint brushes... happy paint party friday...thank  you Kristin and Eva for hosting...can't wait to hop around this weekend.

    Looks wonderful...depending on the depth of colors you could use lavender to add contrast or stick with warm pinks and pale oranges.

    Love the patterns here and I'm actually ok with the use of yellow- it makes her eyes really POP!

    She really came out great. 95 degree and of course when we see these women wearing their cultural dress we wonder how in the world can they put up with the heat. I suppose they are so used to it, they just don't think about it. On the other hand this girl seems to be looking at something that caught her eye and she is wishing for that too. Great work.

    I think it is fantastic that you were so inspired that you didn't wait for brushes! Who needs 'em when you get such beautiful results with q-tips?!? So, so cool!

    (I actually think that the yellow is a nice contrast to the blue... and the way you've added a hint of it to the background really ties everything together :) )

    Detroit RED WINGS have a purple octopus as their mascot??? Really? Why I wonder? Totally incongrous. Shouldn't red wings have a bird as a mascot?

    Eva, yes, purple octopus...for decades when the wings are in the playoffs people have thrown octopus on the ice when the wings score...slimy creepy I know...but it is what it is! TRADITION!!!

    :) Me and yellow, we aren't friends - But. It compliments the violet so well, that even i would have used it.

    Pretty violet eyes.

    Also. I think cultural clothing is intriguing.
