All your suggestions are appreciated!!!
she's an American Girl |
As always it will take me most of the week to get to visit all...I keep missing a few but keep trying to check in with all! Thanks to Kristen and Eva for hosting such a helpful and inspiration day of the week!!!! Be sure to check out all the art at Paint Party Friday!
cheers, dana
ps - I hope the majority suggested cutting her out and doing something because that is what I just did! We'll see what happens!
I know I'm writing this on Thursday but Friday's are my early day at work and I just miss it if I don't get it done early.
p.s.s. check out my new profile pic on facebook!!!!
my husband suggests using the pen to detail the heck out of the tree and grass..says you will get a different look than what you may have wanted. He likes the way it looks now!..doesn't see what you are talking about!!!..just another artists view!!!me..I like it too..but if you arent happy with it,i'd say, cut her out and collage her back on another painting of trees and grasses...I do not paint or draw, but ,as my husband does..i know you've put alot of your heart and soul into this...how about just holding off on any changes for a while..just look at it and wait ..?
ReplyDeleteIf I do things like that, I usually cut them out and collage them into new surroundings! Valerie
ReplyDeleteI was going to say 'cut her out' ..so probably just as well you have. How about sticking her on some card..just an idea! keep up the good work Dana, you're doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteThanks you guys. Ann tell your husband I really appreciate his input too! I did cut her out already but plan on doing her like I started and then the collage version also. I shall take his suggestion to heart!
ReplyDeletecheers everyone!!!
Thought it was coming along nicely ~thanks, namaste, Carol (Share the Creative Journey) HPPF ^_^
ReplyDeleteI think she looks beautiful just the way she is, but cutting her out sounds like a really cool thing to do! Looking forward to seeing what you'll come up with~

cut her out and apply it to another substrate. It will give a nice 3-d impression
ReplyDeleteI love the girl on the bike...it might be fun to cut her out and create a whimsical collage background for her...lots of great ideas! POP ART MINIS
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF, I love your girl on the bike, but am sure whatever you decide to do will be magical. x
ReplyDeleteNow I'm curious to see what you did!

I loved how you said you make everybody blonde ~ because I make everybody brunette! She looks great on the bike... saw that you cut her out... now I'm curious to see her in her new surroundings :) Happy PPF!
ReplyDeletehere's my two cents - try it all over again...you might find something emerge that will be a very pleasant surprise...I am always delighted when I sit with a piece and re-do it several times - you are bound to fall in love with one of them! If not, you will at least have a couple renditions to work with!
ReplyDeletesounds like you already cut her out so I would say why don't you cut her out and make a collage mixed media type of creation little rolled up newspapers in her basket is a great idea how about apples in a tree or more details of leaves and a dog someplace dogs are always chasing the paper-person !!!

Can't wait to see what you do. Happy PPF! Theresa
ReplyDeleteI like the newsprint idea! Can't wait to see what you do. Happy Paint Party Friday! ~Robin Panzer Art Studio 33
ReplyDeleteThe newsprint idea sounds good to me too. Hope you come up with something great, I hate it when a piece goes sideways just as you are putting on the finishing touches.
ReplyDeleteShe looks great to me. :) If you really need to change the background, I would go with acrylics. They cover better than watercolor. :) You can add water to them if you need more flow.
ReplyDeleteI think your ideas of what do to with her sound very exciting can't wait to see the finished product!!! I really like her :0)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using newspaper as background!! Good for you for keeping at it. You'll get something you're happy with now.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of cutting her out and putting her on newsprint!
ReplyDeleteNewsprint sounds good to me too, but I actually like the way she is right now. Have fun deciding.
ReplyDeleteWell I don't think it's bad, but I read that you cut her out already so it will be fun to see what you do with her. Really cute drawing though :)
ReplyDeleteHow did it turn out after you cut her from the painting? Can't wait to see how it came out. Happy late PPF.
ReplyDeleteI post mine on Thursdays too because of work! I don't think anyone minds. We starving artists still need our day gigs, lol!I think she looked fine but now I'm excited about what you are going to do now that you cut her out! The newsprint idea sounds cool! I like her blond too cuz her hair matches the basket! Great painting! Deb
ReplyDeleteI can't tell what is wrong with her but if you are unhappy then save her and place her into another work for sure! Hang in there...Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the newsprint....any text background would be super neat.....lovely work!!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks great! I was going to suggest cutting her out, so I am glad you already did! Looking forward to what you end up doing. I think newsprint always looks great. :) Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you've done with you "American Girl"... I bet she looks great cut out :)
