2014 LIBERATE YOUR ART POSTCARD SWAP
Once again, Kat's swap brought joy to my mailbox! This is my third year participating and it is so much fun going to the mailbox. . . no bills just beauty from around the globe!
The first card top left is a beautiful photo of an old building with rocks and flowering weeds bringing it life! It is from Sonya Versluys www.sonyaversluys.com - her work amazing!
Then a much needed shared cup of hot chocolate from Maddy at www.maddy-moo.blogspot.com
Her card came on one of the many snowy days we had here in the never ending Michigan winter, made me smile!
The sunset skyline with small bird in the trees is so peaceful. It has a soulful beauty from Vicki at www.outofhand-alteredbooks.blogspot.com
Once again another photo that gives you peace the minute you look at it! boats out on the water with an amazing skyline! from Dee Vlasak at Instagram
A shoreline pic of Lake Erie from the Ohio side of the water! Love it, as I am from Michigan and have visited this shoreline my entire life! Gorgeous! from Shelley at www.shelleyshockley.com
And of course from Kat herself! Layered Autumn www.kateyestudio.com
I love getting Kat's postcard as the finally - it just pulls it altogether. It is sad too because now you know it's done - over - complete - ahhhhhhh, but there is next year!
Hope those that received my A-moo-re enjoyed the love!
I took this photo while in New Mexico visiting my husband's dairy vet daughter. This is NOT photo shopped. They check cows for pregnancy - marking them with different colors for stage of pregnancy, twins and other things. She checked 600 cows the day we were with her. Wow, I have a totally different view of cows now - and the strength it takes to do what she does!
Like the card says: live, laugh, love!!!!

Liberate Your Art Swap 2013
Once again it was a joy to go to the mailbox each day in anticipation of receiving MORE ART!!! Thanks to Kat Sloma for hosting such an awesome event! This is my second year participating and I am looking forward to 2014 already. Thinking - first year I did separate postcards of original artwork; this year a favorite photograph I took out my kitchen window.... humm - time to think and create to see what 2014 brings!
Each card came with special hidden meanings attached. The first card was from Jo in New Zealand! Oddly, my step-daughter was in New Zealand at that very same time. In fact, when I first saw the card I thought it was from her. Isn't that cosmic! The scene is sooooooooo peaceful and Jaimie (said daughter) says the entire countryside is just like that - peaceful and beautiful. Next came the beautiful photograph of a felted art piece by Caroyn, all the way from the UK - I love the water and felt the wash of the ocean as I held her piece. love it! Then a soulful flower from Cindy in Phoenix, AZ. I had been trying to find some flowers to photograph up close and personal for a painting - wha-lah - got it! I am not sure if it is pollen dew or fairy glitter on the flower but love its softness! From Amanda - and at this moment I don't know from where (again I procrastinated in contacting her to thank her for this wonderful piece), the island of Paradise. Now, for any of you that visit regularly you know I am an island girl!!! Key West is my personal paradise and I so hope to someday live there on a houseboat! This card could not be more perfect for me! Then a bouquet of tulips to light up my day! These are from Deb - also from AZ, Chandler. I see that she is just returning from what looks like an incredible trip to England! Anyways the cosmic connection here besides my love of flowers is the name of her blog: paperturtle! I love love love turtles...I try to photograph them, watch them and had a small collection at one time. They just mesmerize me! So, double bonus! Then, of course the serenity of Kat's postcard.... It is like meditating when you look into it! absolutely LOVELY!

This is the postcard I sent out, he is a critter that visits our bird feeder on a regular basis - he just cracks me up! I hope it made the recipients smile too!
The quote on the back is: Life is short, make sure you LIVE it! That is my mantra for this year and I close each post with it!
cheers and enjoy the hop! Thanks Kat!

Liberate Your Art postcard swap 2013...
Is underway and I have received my first postcard...all the way from New Zealand! It is a beautiful pic of the true essence of the country I believe. NATURE! Ironically, Mark's daughter is in New Zealand right now hiking and touring the country. She just completed a 3 week clinical and is taking the country in for 2 more weeks. I posted the card I received on FB and Jaimie (daughter) sent back - that it looked like where she was at that very time. I can't wait for her return home so we can figure out if it is indeed someplace she visited.
Thanks Jo, I loved the pic and your note! Love liberation of art all around the globe.
Thanks to Kat for hosting the swap again this year. This is my second time participating and it is so exciting to go to the mailbox to see what treasure has arrived!

PPF and my first postcard from the swap
Wow , so excited got my first postcard from the Liberate Art Swap... it is beautiful!
Thank you Kelly Ishmael
The poor postcard got a little beat up in its travels but still a wonderful mix of words and image!
All these classes and projects on the table...I have just finally figured out you can have fun with art, everything you do doesn't have to become a painting... a publish-able piece... a masterpiece... a piece to be critiqued.... YOU CAN JUST JOURNAL or doodle or scribble or whatever!!! Just keep doing because through doing YOU GET BETTER... omg, I think I've heard that before! So, just sitting around with scraps of paper and my markers/pencils that I keep in my bag.... I just had FUN!!!! I plan on continuing to do this!!! It is okay that my mind gets ahead of my writing and I have to fit things in... it's okay if I misspell a word because this is the place to do it. This is where you generate ideas, thoughts, feelings that develop into the next "real" painting!!! There is a big smile on my face!!!!
Please be sure to visit all the participants at Paint Party Friday... I have learned so much from many! So thankful that there is this positive inspiring place!!! Thanks Alexandra for hosting! More to come regarding the postcard swap... a blog hop... stay tuned!
cheers, dana
